Ethiopia Commodity Exchange

The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) is a rather new initiative for Ethiopia, founded 2008. Its a unique partnership between the Government of Ethiopia and the Members of the Exchange. ECX aims to bring security and efficiency to the market.

Which commodities are traded at ECX?

At Ethiopia Commodity Exchange you can trade commodities such as coffea arabica, coffea robusta, sesame, haricot beans, maize and wheat.

Which instruments are traded at ECX?

Over 200 different spot contracts can be traded by ECX members. Currently no commodity future contracts.

Cost to join Ethiopia Commodity Exchange?

The annual member fee to join ECX is negotiated between both parties, usually between 0,5-2 % of the value of the yearly commodity trading.
