Intercontinental Exchange – ICE

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) provides internet-based future exchange trading, as well as over-the-counter or off-exchange trading. ICE focuses on the trade of commodities and energy, and derivative financial products. Energy products that are traded include crude oil, refined oil products, coal, natural gas, power, and emissions. Other metals and agricultural commodities include iron ore, sugar, cotton, cocoa, orange juice concentrate, and coffee. The Intercontinental Exchange also offers foreign exchange and equity index futures.

Established in 2000, the Intercontinental Exchange is headquartered in Atlanta and serves customers in more than 70 countries. ICE provides commodity products to commercial hedgers, traders, brokers, risk managers, portfolio managers, and Futures Commission Merchants. Information, such as prices and market activity, is presented in real time on a single screen, giving traders the ability to easily manage their risks and investments. Commercial hedgers are the exchange’s main customers and include consumers, utilities, refiners, and producers.

ICE operates three main exchanges. ICE Futures U.S. is the second largest futures exchange in the United States and it offers agricultural, foreign exchange, and equity index futures and options. ICE Futures Canada offers agricultural futures and options contracts agricultural markets, and focuses on milling and durum wheat, canola, and barley contracts. ICE Futures Europe is the largest energy futures exchange in Europe and provides benchmark energy and emissions futures and options. The exchange offers utility contracts in coal, natural gas, and power, as well as emissions futures and options.
